I build houses.
Now I build your health coverage — the right way.

As a contractor, I never let a client sign without seeing every number. Same with your 2027 health plan: premiums, tax credits, your doctors, your prescriptions — measured twice, before you commit.

THE BLUEPRINT

2027 ACA Open Enrollment — what you need to know

STEP 1 · TIMING
Nov 1 – Jan 15

Open Enrollment through Nevada Health Link. Book your appointment now for any day after Nov 1 — don’t wait until November.

STEP 2 · THE KEY DEADLINE
Enroll by Dec 31

Choose by Dec 31 → coverage starts Jan 1, 2027. Choose Jan 1–15 → coverage starts Feb 1, and you have no coverage in January. Don’t wait until January.

STEP 3 · RE-COMPARE
Don’t auto-renew

Premiums are up for 2027. I’ll check your premium, your tax credit, and whether your doctors and medications are in-network — and show you the numbers.

Important: new 2027 rule for some immigrants

Under the new federal law, many lawfully present immigrants — including people with pending asylum, work permit only, or a pending marriage green card (I-485) — may no longer get the premium tax credit starting in 2027 and could pay full price. Book early so we can review your situation and find the best option for you.

ESTIMATE YOUR SAVINGS

How your income sets your tax credit

The ACA subsidy is really a tax credit. How much you get depends on your household income compared to the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). For 2027 plans, the 2026 poverty numbers are used.

2026 poverty line (used for 2027 coverage)
Household 100% FPL 138% (NV floor) 400% (cap)
1 person$15,960$22,025$63,840
2 people$21,640$29,863$86,560
3 people$27,320$37,702$109,280
4 people$33,000$45,540$132,000
Below 138%: you likely qualify for Nevada Medicaid instead. Above 400%: generally no tax credit, full price.
1 · Income → your FPL %

We use your expected 2027 household income (MAGI — roughly the adjusted gross income on your tax return) and your tax household size.

2 · FPL % → what you’re expected to pay

The lower your FPL %, the smaller share of income you pay for the benchmark silver plan. The tax credit covers the rest.

3 · Settled at tax time

The credit is usually paid in advance to your insurer each month. When you file taxes, Form 8962 compares it to your real income. Earn more than estimated → you may pay some back. Earn less → you may get more back.

Tip: Report income changes during the year (new job, raise, side work). Starting in 2026, the old limits on how much you might owe back were removed — an honest, accurate estimate protects you at tax time.

“Over my last few visits, Kyle went above and beyond. He took the time to look into my living trust concerns and connected me with the right resources. He also helped me with my Medicare coverage, free of charge, and explained it in a way no one ever had before. I was so happy with the help I received that I referred my son here for his ACA coverage. Very satisfied!”
